I have always been obsessed with people’s stories.  If there’s a panel discussion or interview happening, chances are….I’m listening in.

When I started my business I didn’t have a creative community around me, to help encourage or offer advice.  I was well down the road of motherhood and life and unpursued dreams and I was taking a huge scary leap by choosing art as a career.

It was again, listening to others, whether that was through podcasts or youtube or q&a’s when I started to find my footing, those same stories of where others had been and were going got me dreaming again about what might be possible.  And somewhere between starting from scratch and making art my full time job I was so fortunate to meet some of the most inspiring people and I went from listening to conversations to having them.  

And it’s Those conversations that are STILL the thing I need to help keep my perspective especially when the things we love are also the things that are hard.  And when you reconnect with people who have chosen a similar path they just seem to get you and know exactly what you need to hear to keep going.  

One thing I know is that no matter where we are in our creative journeys we all have something teach as well as room to learn because there’s no ONE singular path when it comes to doing art and I think hearing the stories of others are truly what allow us to get out there and tell our own
